The Great British Bake Off, Family, Friends & Autumn

It’s a tradition in our office to tune in to the Great British Bake off and then over the first cup of tea of the day discuss the contestants’ highs and lows. We enthuse about best bakes and have admittedly shared the odd giggle when things haven’t quite gone to plan. The rollercoaster of rivalry, repartee, regard for success and revelry is compelling. Over the (relatively!) simple act of baking friendships are formed, special moments shared and tears shed. It’s all a bit like family really.

This week my parents visited the big smoke, they returned up north in the midst of storm Ali and train cancellations at Kings Cross. I monitored departure info closely and confirmed their train was running. As a final piece in the jigsaw I texted my Dad to make sure all was well . I share the joy of my lovely dad’s humour to the right!

So the storms have started, autumn has arrived, blackberries have been picked and warmer coats fished out of cupboards. Thoughts turn to warming dishes, hot chocolates and nights in by the fire or enjoying TV dramas.

Often Autumn is a time for taking stock, so whether you stick with things as they are or make new discoveries; we have a range of fizz ready and waiting just for you. Click HERE to find out more.

Whatever you’re up to this weekend, hope it’s a good one.

Cheers,

Helen
