This is a fantastic introduction to orange wine if you haven’t tried it before. It has been nowhere near oranges! It’s actually a white wine and its orange hue is because it was fermented with the grape skins still in the grape juice. Fermenting in this way adds another dimension in terms of flavours, texture and tannins.

This wine is dry and has wonderful notes of  lychee and rose petal with a touch of tangerine and spice.

An amazing match with nutty curries such as panang and also great with katsu too.

The wine maker is Michael Savage, he and his wife Grace have been making wine since 2011 in Washington State; the wild, north west corner of America.

Savage Grace represents their philosophy for wine-making.

Savage: echoes the struggle of the grape to withstand the stress of ripening, along with making wine that is true to the grape, site, and vintage.

Grace: as well as Michael’s wife, this symbolizes what Michael hopes to achieve as the end result; a wine that is delicate, balanced, approachable yet expressive.
