Charles Ellner Blanc de Blancs

Chardonnay

Richer and Dry

France

In the glass there are lots of flavours, reminiscent of baked apples, brioche and buttery pastry. Rich and toasty, with a fresh finish.

Silky and fresh. Delightful to drink on its own or with fish and creamy sauces.

Beautiful pale gold with a steady stream of fine bubble after pouring. This had a yeasty aroma with possibly a faint hint of apricot. It was very rich in the mouth – with granny smith apples and lime being its most obvious flavours, with some nuttiness in the background. It is very well-balanced. This wine would be best to drink with food – though it was delicious on its own. We felt it would work well with foods with a white or creamy sauce; even some milder cheeses. The acidity would cut through the cream and allow some of the underlying flavours to flourish. We liked it a lot!
