All You Need is Love… Fizz and Food

We’re skipping closer to Valentine’s Day. You’re working through the week and it’s a bit ‘brrrr’ outside. You’ve chosen to stay at home where it’s all cosy and warm. You decide to cook a romantic meal for your loved one. Before you pile into your recipe books and try to find where you put your matches to create that romantic glow, we’re here with some ideas on how to create the perfect fizz & food dishes.

Starters:
Bruschetta

Here at Fizz HQ, we love a crowd-pleasing starter that’s quick and easy to make. A fish platter with prawns and smoked salmon is the perfect pairing with a dry champagne such as the Bergere Uber Dry champagne.

Alternatively, if you’re making a bruschetta with roasted vegetables, then you’ll need a sparkling pink full of flavour, maybe our award-winning Louisvale Rosé, our award-winning South African Sparkling.

Chicken with prosciutto
Mains:

If you’re cooking an Italian mushroom-based dish such as wild mushroom risotto, we would recommend a toasty, bready champagne such as Forget-Chemin Carte Blanche.

Chicken dishes fit well with a zestier champagne. If you’re having chicken wrapped in prosciutto, why not try it with G. Tribaut Réserve Champagne.

Chocolate fondant
Desserts:

Anything containing chocolate is a perfect match with our Australian Sparkling Shiraz. This has been tried and tested at Fizz HQ with a chocolate fondant and we were definitely impressed!

If you prefer a fruitier focus for pudding such as a raspberry panna cotta, we recommend our pink sparkling ‘Amorino’ that’s just as fruity.
