We have ended up with nine Fizz tasters this month – below the first six sippers and slurpers, reveal all!
A jet-lagged Joanna Parry went from a beer conference stateside to Italian Pink sparkling wine when she gave Amorino a whirl.
“Jam-packed with ripe strawberry flavours” Well it certainly it lived up to that. On receiving this delightful Summer in a bottle, it was left to chill, for some time. In look it is clean, clear and a vibrant pink in colour so much so that it shouted out “Sweet” to us.
The aroma, as you’d expect was clean and light yet very fruity. The moment you tried it, it was like a mini explosion of a summer pudding – full of flavour and the first round of bubbles intensified it even more.
The first glass was “lush”, after that, we (my husband and I) found it all a bit much. Feel this is more of a desert fizz which would go well with a blue cheese, to cut through the sweetness, having already indulged in a summer fruit pavlova of course.
More info on the reverse label I think would help guide drinkers as to how this can be enjoyed more…
I can see a number of people enjoying this during the summer months – this seasons “pink” on the fizz catwalk!
Next Tanya Oxberry galloped off to Ascot with a bottle of Masia Bou Rosé Cava. (Thanks for the pictures Tanya – you all look lovely and we’re not jealous at all!)
Lovely fruity Rosé cava great for a summer picnic or BBQ.Full of Raspberries flavours and a sour cherries taste that leaves a sharp aftertaste which we found quite addictive and very moorish.
Philip Colbourne was also asked to taste some cava – this one is made with a single cava grape called Xarel.lo (pronounced sha-rel-o) by a lovely family at the 1+1=3 winery. Phil said this about the Cava
Cava has always been one of my favourites and have even visited the vineyard. This is beautiful. I got flavours of crisp apple. Recommend

Dry crisp taste with a hint of citrus flavours. Tried wih cheese & crackers which complimented the flavour. Ideal to drink on its own or with something with cheese or fruit ie ploughmans.
Our final taster for the moment is George Murdoch he gave G.Tribaut Blanc de Noirs a very definite thumbs up! (and five stars)
This Champagne was tasted by 3 of us on a summer evening. We found the nose quite fruity but not flowery, which we prefer, while the taste lingered very well and smoothly on the palette, providing a mix of citrus and melon flavours mingled with a hint of apricot and nectarine. We very much like the balance of taste and flavour which leaves you wanting more…. and we have been enjoying Champagne and visiting vineyards for over 30 years. Definitely one to be recommended and excellent value for money at this price point, hence our top rating. Try eating with strawberries as an aperitif or with good fish for dinner (ours was wild seabass).
