Get your beak into La Farra ‘Extra Dry’ Prosecco

When we taste, after popping the cork, the first thing we do is ‘get our beak in’ ie take a good long sniff to see what amazing aromas our noses can detect.


This July, we have ‘beaked’ and ‘sipped’- on your behalf, three different bottles.  Here, we share our experience of  La Farra ‘Extra Dry’ Prosecco from Italy.

On the ‘beak’ front, imagine plunging your nose into a pile of freshly grated pink lady apples and the soporific sweetness this fruity mountain throws off.



On the sipping front, it’s interesting to note that the term ‘Extra Dry’ actually means sweeter than usual.  Yes, we know, nothing like a bit of illogical terminology!  Anyway, you will be pleased to discover that the sipping bit takes you straight to the good old patisserie.  Think pear frangipane tart; layers of fruity, almond and honeyed sweetness.


We think this fizz would be amazing with a slice of something rich, buttery and sweet, perhaps a selection of sweet pastries and tarts.
