When we taste, after popping the cork, the first thing we do is ‘get our beaks in’ ie – take a good long sniff to see what amazing aromas our noses can detect.
This February, we have ‘beaked’ and ‘sipped’ – at Fizz Towers, on your behalf, and this is our feedback on the Janisson ‘Tradition’ Champagne.
On the ‘beak’ front, just ease yourself into a big comfy velvet sofa, close your eyes and imagine what the smell of ‘decadence’ would be … rich, smooth, heady? Well we think it would taste just like this award winning champagne: toasty, and honey infused with hints of gently roasted nuts.
We hope you like the shape of this bottle – it is unique to the winery, owned and run by Manuel Janisson, in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay. We love this sexy, curve adorned bottle with it’s beautiful aubergine front label; you can see their full range on our website
Back to the sipping bit … and the wonderful thing about this champagne is all those rich nutty, toasty notes we enjoyed in the ‘beaking’ bit can be enjoyed in the sipping bit too! Plus, this very cleverly made fizz rounds all the richness off with a cleansing citrus swoosh: so you don’t get the heavy after-taste you sometimes do with rich food and drink. This award winning champagne would be great with a platter of hard cheeses or how about a mushroom stroganoff?!
If this champagne was a piece of furniture, think deep, plump, velvet sofa, dressed with a scattering of silk cushions. If you order this bottle with us, please share your ‘get your beak in’ and ‘swig, sip and slurp’ experiences with us.
Bought to you by the Fizz Company team. Cheers!
