When we taste, after popping the cork, the first thing we do is ‘get our beaks in’ ie take a good long sniff to see what amazing aromas our noses can detect.
This January, we have ‘beaked’ and ‘sipped’- on your behalf, and this is our feedback on the A Bergère Brut Nature Champagne.
On the ‘beak’ front, just close your eyes and imagine finding yourself in the best patisserie in town; fortunately, you have the Harry Potter invisibility cloak so you can just wander around, without being in the way! This affords you the time and space watch everything being made from scratch. There are three different smells we would like you enjoy – the nuts, the baked lemon and toffee apple. Now, keep that memory in your ‘beak bank’ because that’s what you can expect when you ‘beak in’ to the A. Bergère Brut Nature.
Before we move on to the ‘sipping’ we thought it would be good to remind you about the term ‘brut nature’ (other terms to look for on the label are ‘Zero Dosage’ and ‘Brut Integral’. These are very dry champagnes, so they’re crisp and really refreshing.
Those of you who are hungry to know what grapes have been used – this champagne is made from 100% Chardonnay and they can impart lots of lovely buttery and nutty notes as well as zest and zing.
Back to the sipping bit … and in a lovely contrast to the pastry richness on the beak, you can expect to sip a gorgeously clean, crisp and uber dry combination of citrus and apple skin. Elegance in a flute.
If you order this bottle with us, please share your ‘get your beak in’ and ‘swig, sip and slurp’ experiences with us.
Brought to you by the Fizz Company team. Cheers!
