It’s a warm balmy evening, so let’s all go to the fair. We can try our luck on the coconut shy, go wild on the waltzer, and perhaps even give the big wheel a whirl. And of course time spent at the fair wouldn’t be complete without a big bag of naughty but nice, melt in the mouth, candy floss.
To delight and surprise your taste buds, The Fizz Company team spend a great deal of time tasting different bottles of bubbles, on your behalf. When we taste, lots of things are important to us and the first thing we are keen to do is ‘get our beak in’ so as soon as the cork is popped and the fizz is poured, we like to take a good long sniff to see what amazing aromas we can detect. Then we ‘swig, sip and slurp’ to see what flavours we can uncover.
This May, we have ‘beaked’ and ‘sipped’ from four different bottles, the fourth of which, the Masia Bou Cava Rosé prompted lots of lovely comments: candy floss, blackcurrant, sour cherry and cherry lips. And please don’t be put off because it’s cava. It is a beautifully dry, fruity sparkling wine. Made near Barcelona in exactly the same way as Champagne, ie ‘the traditional method’ and in terms of value for money, it is pretty spectacular.
