When we taste, after popping the cork, the first thing we do is ‘get our beaks in’ ie we take a good long sniff to see what amazing aromas our noses can detect.
This June, we have ‘beaked’ and ‘sipped’- on your behalf, two different bottles. Here, we share our musings on the La Farra Dy Style Prosecco …
Before we get in to the beaking bit, we wanted to share several bits of information that we think will please you!
Firstly: if you are not a big prosecco fan (and yes, although it seems to be everywhere, we know not everybody is keen) because you may prefer a drier style of fizz … then this is the style for you.
We think this deserves a little round of applause.
Secondly, if you prefer a drier fizz, such as Champagne, this will give you that dry style, without the higher price point.
Perhaps, a mini Mexican wave at this point?
Thirdly; because it does have less sugar, and consuming less sugar is of high priority these days, we think this wallet and waist friendly prosecco…
deserves an enthusiastic standing ovation!
After all that, of course you want to know what’s going on in the flute. Well, on the beak, think delicate fragrances of just ripe, freshly washed slices of apple, peach, apricot and pear.
For those of you wanting a break from your Mexican wave, take a little look at the motif on the neck of the bottle … each symbol represents one of the three siblings who make this wonderful prosecco: Guido, Innocente and their sister Adamaria.
Back to the sipping bit … we delighted in the freshness of crisp green apples, lingering citrus lemon and a delicate saline whoosh at the end.
